Daft Punk was on the Grammys!?!?!?

In case you missed it, and i can't imagine why you wouldn't have, Daft Punk was on the Grammys 5 minutes ago. Kanye West came onstage to perform "Stronger" in a light-up black "Sgt. Pepper" Jacket (a la Alive 2007 Encore), with the backdrop of a pyramid that looked like the "Alive 2007" CD cover. Midway through, the middle of the Pyramid dropped out, and our favorite Robots appeared outlined in their red light-piping jackets. The cameras showed the inside of the pyramid, with the duo playing around on 4 "Lemur" Controllers. To my knowledge, this is the first footage of Daft Punk actually playing their controllers in the Pyramid, and I just learned that this was the first live TV broadcast in DPs history. Way Cool. I had just been lamenting the loss of Daft Punk for the forseeable future, but maybe they won't be going too far after all.

Whats the deal with Thomas being on the right and Guy on the left? Anyone else think this is a bit fishy?

Maybe they wanted to switch it up

i wish they could've had a solo song, without kanye.

*sigh*

kanyes outfit + glasses was pretty sick tho.

I don't think that was Daft Punk. Just some guys who wore their outfits.

It was them, C'mon now. Daft Punk is not about to go in front of arguably the largest audience they've ever played for (17 Million in the US alone by some estimations) and send in their doubles. Those stand ins model, walk, drive Ferrari's, have their heads explode...they don't play music in pyramids. If there's one thing I believe in, its the integrity of Daft Punk, and they would not say it was them if it wasn't--Plus, they're always up front when its the stand-ins, and TB lives in LA, not that much of a stretch that GuyMan would come to lace up their pyramid one more time.

And yeah, it was thrilling to watch live, i teared up a bit, to be honest.

tell you the truth, i was pretty stoked before I saw the video, and somewhat unimpressed afterwards. Not enough DP and too much Kanye.

All I gotta say is Alive 2008!
